Description:
A heavy, well potted jug from the Garrison Pottery of Sunderland. Rich pink lustre decoration between the three monochrome transfers. On one side the iconic bridge over the River Wear, on the reverse a sentimental verse: The Sailors Tear. Below the spout a ship in full sail below a banner reading: Success to Coal Trade
Circa 1850
Approx - 6.5 inches (165mm) tall.
In very good condition throughout save minor nibbles to rim and spout.
